Sunday, December 4th from 8:30 to 6pm

at the Arcata Healing Arts Center.

This retreat will be similar to the two day retreats that we have been offering. With the cooler, wetter weather approaching this retreat will be held indoors, except for the walking meditations.

This is a Vipassana style meditation retreat. Vipassana literally means 'to see things as they really are'. It is described as a practice that seeks “insight into the true nature of reality” and is often referred to as 'insight meditation'.

This method was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy to the human condition, an 'art of living' that is still a potent path for personal transformation. It is a method of mental purification which allows one to face life's tensions and problems in a calm, balanced way.

This retreat is appropriate for people new to meditation, as well as experienced meditators.

WHAT TO EXPECT: We will have four 1 hour sitting meditation sessions, two 30 minute (possibly longer) walking meditations, some short breaks in between for rest and snacks and a longer break for lunch.

Stacey will be offering acupuncture during one of the sitting meditations for those that are interested. Acupuncture has a profoundly calming effect on the central nervous system and can greatly enhance the meditative experience.

Space is limited to 10 people. Lunch, snacks, tea and water will be provided. Cost will be $50.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.
